Conditions of Self-Nomination

Lender categories – Lenders must provide a short profile about their firm to support their self-nomination(s). The profile must be no more than 150 words. Lenders must also check the declaration provided to confirm they are a member of the L&G mortgage Club lender panel.

Broker categories – Brokers must provide a short profile about their firm to support their self-nomination(s). The profile must be no more than 150 words. There are also 2 declarations that Brokers must check to confirm they are:

a) a member of the Legal & General Mortgage Club, and

b) that they have put through £20 million in mortgage lending via L&G Mortgage Club during 2022

Stage 2 – Verification Process

Brokers – The Mortgage Club reserves the right to remove any firms from the entry process who we believe do not meet the mandatory criteria outlined in the self-nomination stage. Please note that if your firm lends though L&G Mortgage Club via multiple entities that exceed the minimum lending threshold, then please email richard1.thomas@landg.com to advise of this so that we can verify your lending total across them all.

Any broker firms who do not meet the criteria will be informed that they are ineligible to proceed any further.

Lenders - The Mortgage Club reserves the right to remove a lender from a particular category they have self-nominated themselves for, if we believe they do not write business in that lending area through Legal & General.

Any lenders who are being removed from a particular category will be informed that they are ineligible to proceed any further.

Stage 3 – Voting Surveys

Those firms who successfully make it through the verification process will then be included in the usual voting survey process whereby brokers & lenders vote for those firms they wish to recognise in each category. The lender & broker profile information provided by entrants will be made available as part of the survey process to help inform voting.

The surveys will go live at midday on Monday 13th February and will close at 5.00pm on Friday 3rd March.

During this stage, we will also launch the submission-based awards mentioned above. For the National Network Partner award, eligible broker firms will be contacted directly to invite them to submit an entry.

Stage 4 – Finalist Announcement

As in previous years, the finalists for each category will be unveiled via a video announcement on the Mortgage Solutions website. This year’s finalists will be announced on Friday 24th March.

All the finalists across both the broker and lender categories will then be invited to provide a more detailed submission on why they believe they should win the award. Specific guidance for the submissions will be provided to the finalists following the announcement. The deadline for submissions to be received is Friday 14th April.

Stage 5 – Judging

All finalist submissions will be judged by panels made up of representatives from the L&G Mortgage Club alongside industry experts and peers. We will invite representatives from Lender firms to judge the broker awards, and vice-versa. The judging will take place on Thursday 4th May.

Stage 6 – Winners Announcement

The winners will be announced live at our 2023 awards ceremony, which is scheduled to take place on Friday 9th June at The Guildhall, London.
